Mobility Scooter

The Friends of Maudslay, through the generous donations made by its members, has donated a mobility scooter to the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation. The scooter is intended to help individuals with mobility impairments to "come play at Maudslay". FOM understands that not everyone is able to walk the long  distances of many of the trails, and that others may have physical challenges that may prohibit them from enjoying the beauty of the Park. The scooter is available at no cost.

You must use DCR's  online scheduler in order to make a reservation. You will be required to read the safety and orientation information, as well as obtain the reservation code that is required before accessing the calendar.  The website is: www.mass.gov/dcr/pdmd

The two seater Cheeta Ninja mobility scooter (available only at Maudslay)  has four wide tires and a suspension system to help navigate moderate inclines and obstacles. The arm rests swing upwards, and the seat swivels for easy entry. The double wide seat means you can have a companion with you as you explore the trails.

The Action Trackchair AXIS 40 is moved between state parks, and will be available this Fall at Maudslay from September 5th to October 31st.

Should you have any questions, please call Maudslay Park Headquarters at (978) 465-7223. Questions specific to the trackchair, please call (413) 461-7126.
